Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a type of psychotherapy in which negative thought patterns are brought to awareness, examined, and reprocessed in order to change unwanted behaviors and moods such as depression and anxiety. Learning and utilizing coping skills for relaxation and stress management are often included. CBT is one of the most widely researched and practiced therapies for persistent negative emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
