Michael Williams, LAC

Michael is a Licensed Associate Counselor who received his counseling degree from Lamar University in Beaumont Texas. He has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and has an extensive background in pastoral ministry. Michael works with teens through older adults and deals with a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, grief, anger management, premarital and marital relationships, family and friendship relationship problems, and spiritual issues. He mainly uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is also training in the Gottman method of couple’s therapy.

Michael and his wife have four children, ages one through nineteen. They enjoy engaging with their children in their hobbies as they continue to grow. Michael and his wife became interested in foster care and adoption over the past few years. They eventually fostered and adopted their one- and two-year-old children.

The relationship between counselor and client is key in therapy, and a couple of the mottos Michael lives by is to love your neighbor (Mark 12:31) and seek to become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some (I Corinthians 9:22). Let Michael walk alongside you as you seek to be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2).
